English Gardens.....

I find so many fey  personae,  among the amazing English  gardens.....this little fairy was in Lacock.






And an angel, presiding over a public garden in Bath.

I think I understand the English delight in gardens, and also their pursuit of the illusive sunbeam.



And, as I passed through the Roman Baths on my way to get the bus to Glastonbury (and next week's Goddess Conference)..........how about this for a "Sign"?

    er, Lacock? That's the village and Abbey where some of Harry Potter (Hogwarts), was filmed.

    Here's something about Chippenham and area... it's Wicca country, where the name Wicca comes from. Just to the North-East of Chippenham is Wychwood, which is a name to conjour with. Glastonbury is in the very far South of the area.

    Here's a map, showing the area of the Hwicce and some archealogical sites, where figures of the Mater Magna (Great Goddess) have been found. The sites are actually marked by circles, which are quite hard to see. I think most such figures are now in the Bath Museum (not sure):

    The figures only date from around 400AD, so are nothing like as ancient as the stone circles, which are actually outside the province of the Wicca (I think).

    beautiful faery collage and Yeats quote you created. You can do this while you are traveling? I am in another ozone when I travel which I rarely do.

    Thanks Robur.......wow. I'll look forward to checking out the link. It makes sense....I seem to have landed quite in the middle of the Mythic Lande......and "wicca", as I understand it, can also be related to "weaver" or "woven" as in "wicker ware". I still seem to carry Spider Woman's stories with me....This area is amazing, potent with herstory, myth, and earth energies. I'm glad I made this pilgrimage at last.

    I am finding it hard to write, so much to take in.
