I am a lover of the steady Earth
and of Her waters
"Let the light be brilliant" She says,
"for those who will cherish color."
What if there be no heaven?
"Touch my breasts", She says,
"the fields are golden."

Mabon is a time to give thanks for the bounty of the harvest, to give thanks to Mother Earth, and falls on the day of the autumnal equinox. In 2010, the equinox falls on September 22 in the Northern Hemisphere. Bright blessings on this auspicious day to all!
LOVE these pieces.... beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy harvest to you as well.
Much abundance on your journey, and creative inspiration.
Thank you! Wishing the same to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased to see that you used the word 'auspicious'. Isn't that word often associated with Chinese dragons!
ReplyDeleteOne very small point about the date. The date when the equinox occurs for you depends on your longitude.
So, if you live in that part of the world which experiences Eastern Daylight Time, it's at 11.09pm EDT, on the 22nd.
But if you live in Europe, it will be at 3.09am GMT, on the 23rd.
Thanks Robur. I didn't know......."auspicious" is a good word for Chinese dragons indeed! Actually, on the subject of dragons, I think of the dragon symbolizing the chi, or earth energies, and Paul Deveraux's (with John Steele and David Kubrin) "Dragon Project", a 10 year study of sacred sites in England. It is my determination to celebrate the Solstice at the Callinash Stones in the Hebrides next summer.
